Email: smayner@mchenry.edu

Shari Mayner started her college coaching career with the Scots in the 2013 season. Shari came to MCC with an exceptional recommendation from Head Coach Kyle McCall and she brings a wealth of experiences to the program. Together they have created a family atmosphere and a student/athlete balance for the players they recruit to MCC. Since the Scots qualified for the 2015 NJCAA Division II Volleyball Tournament, Mayner's first and foremost goal is to continue to return each year, as well as continuing to cultivate a hardworking student-athlete culture within the athletic department. She holds a high level of expectations for the team in the gym, as well as the classroom.

Mayner has been playing volleyball since 1996 and continues to play in leagues and tournaments throughout the year. She coached men’s and women’s volleyball at the high school and club level for 12 years and now puts in her time as site director for juniors' tournaments. Her solid and varied background and experience are paying dividends for the MCC players and staff. Outside of her volleyball life, Shari likes to cook, bake, and spend time with her family. She has a husband, Andrew, daughters Emma and Heidi, and her rescue dog, Ellie.
