Congratulations to Jose Hernandez earning the MCC Student-Athlete of the Month honor for September. The Crystal Lake Central High School graduate is a 6'1 forward for the 2019-20 Scots soccer team.

"Jose has been proactive with his education, not only current but his transfer as well. He asks questions, reaches out for mentoring and guidance. I went with him to meet Mike Clesceri (MCC Chief of Police) to ask about police work and how to best further his education. He conducted himself like a gentleman with well thought out questions," lauds Amanda Baudin, Learning and Retention Specialist, who assists with soccer team study halls.

"I am so happy to see Jose off to a great start academically and learning how to best juggle the schedules of being a student and athlete. He is representing with maturity and class in the classroom and on the soccer pitch," adds Athletic Director Karen Wiley.
