Michelle Pahl

Volleyball 1996-98
Michelle Pahl was a two-time NJCAA All-American setter, led the Scots to an NJCAA Region IV championship and a seventh-place finish at the NJCAA Division II national tournament in 1998. She was part of the first team to compete at the NJCAA national volleyball tournament. Pahl was also named as the Illinois Skyway Conference MVP in 1998.
After leaving MCC, Pahl coached at the Crystal Lake-based Sky High volleyball club for three years and Crystal Lake High School for two years.
“Being inducted is a great honor,” Pahl said. “It’s more of personal honor, but it was a team sport that got me the honor.”
Bill Probst
Women’s Basketball Coach 1989-1997
Bill Probst coached the MCC Women’s Basketball team 1989-1997, recording a .740 winning percentage and capturing four Illinois Skyway Conference Championships in the process. Undefeated conference seasons took place in 1994, 1995 and 1996. He coached three NJCAA All Americans in Sue Syljebeck 1994-95, Sarah Kehoe 1995-96 and Davreen Thornton 1995-96. His teams established a record 51 consecutive home game win streak and appeared in the NJCAA Region IV Final Four in 1994, 1995, and 1996. Probst was also named the ISCC Coach of the Year four times.
"I have wonderful memories and am very proud of the accomplishments we have all worked so hard to achieve over eight seasons. Being in the first class-first group to go into the Hall of Fame- that is very special," Probst said.
Sue Syljebeck
Class of 1995 Women's
Basketball 1993-95 Volleyball 1993-94
Sue Syljebeck played basketball for Coach Bill Probst 1993-95. She was a two-time NJCAA All-American and Kodak All-American forward for the Scots. In both seasons she led the team to Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference championships. She averaged 18.5 points per game, 14.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 4.0 assists per game. She also played on the Scot’s conference championship in 1993.
Upon MCC graduation, Syljebeck moved on to and graduated from New Orleans in 1997 with her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Performance and Health Promotion. After a successful playing career, she then went on to receive her Master’s of Science degree in Physical Education from Southern Illinois in 2000. From here, Syljebeck worked four years at Nichols State as an assistant and head coach. Syljebeck is currently the head coach at Siena Heights in Adrian, Michigan.
“To be inducted to the Hall of Fame with Coach Probst, I consider it a tremendous honor to be inducted,” said Syljebeck.
